Our Pastors

PASTOR THOM KELLER

Senior Pastor

Thom began teaching an inner-city Bible study in 1995. That love of teaching God’s word eventually led to the formation of Calvary Chapel Lebanon in October, 2001, with about 50 people meeting in an old hardware store. Our church ministry and philosophy centers on teaching God’s word chapter by chapter, verse by verse.

Prior to pastoring, Thom was president and general manager of Keller Brothers Ford, a third-generation family business that began in 1921.  After 8 years of bi-vocational ministry, in 2009, Thom sold the business and became a full-time pastor.

Thom and his wife, Sue, live near Schaefferstown. Thom and Sue enjoy snow skiing, mountain biking and motorcycle rides.  Thom has often said that he loves performing weddings because he loves being married!

Ted, pictured above is Sue’s brother who has lived with Thom and Sue since 2001.
“It has been an absolute joy to see the changes God is bringing about in the lives of individuals, marriages and families at Calvary Chapel. God’s word does not return void!”

Currently we have worship services Sunday morning at 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM at our church located at 740 Willow St.  Please introduce yourself when you stop by!

PASTOR DAN VANVLEET

Associate Pastor

Dan & Sue VanVleet live in West Lebanon with three of their six children. Their three oldest children are married and they are expecting their third grandson in June of 2017.

Dan has been pastoring since 1985. He has been a long-time friend of Thom Keller. The opportunity to plant a church with Thom came in 2001. Thom & Dan, along with others, shared a dream of being part of a team in a teaching church. The vision has always been to be a fellowship where people feel welcome, safe, and loved.

“Being part of Calvary Chapel has been such a blessing to our family. Our children are actively involved with youth leadership,  worship team, helping in the children’s ministry, and young adult ministry.”

Dan is part of the leadership team, which includes teaching, counseling, and visitation.  Sue works in the children’s ministry. Dan & Sue lead the young adult ministry.

PASTOR DUANE MILLER

 Interim Senior Pastor

Duane & Sheri Miller joined the Calvary Chapel Lebanon pastoral team full time in October of 2011. Duane serves as the Associate Pastor of Church Life while Sheri facilitates and coordinates Calvary’s disability ministry.  Duane spent his childhood years in Brazil as a first generation missionary kid, or third culture kid (TCK). His faith journey took him from central Brazil to Lancaster Bible College, then to L’Abri Fellowship in Switzerland, which was followed by West Chester University where he began to find balance to the third culture life. While at West Chester, Duane met Sheri and eventually followed her to Lebanon. They were married in August of 1995, and were later blessed with two sons who are now 19 and 17 years old.

Prior to coming on board at Calvary Chapel, Duane spent 17 years working in the corporate office of Pennsylvania Counseling Services developing programs and services for children and adults who need counseling and behavioral support. Through this experience, he learned vital skills that have served him well in this new role within the church.

Sheri is a recent graduate of Evangelical Seminary, earning her masters in Marriage & Family Therapy. She currently runs a private practice in Lebanon while also working with a non-profit counseling organization to provide therapy services to the community. Additionally, Sheri coordinates and facilitates At the Well, a support group for mothers of children with special needs.

Duane’s role at Calvary includes creating opportunities for the body to be engaged with the church in bible studies and ministries. He also oversees certain administrative functions of the church that allow the pastoral team to work together in their strengths.

They planted three churches in Argentina before coming, and planted three more here in PA and one in NC. When Lorenzo thought he was finally retired and life was going to slow down, God drew him to Calvary Chapel Lebanon and opened up a new vision to work again with the Spanish population of Lebanon within the church, as part of the ministry of the church. Lorenzo is one of the pastors at Calvary Chapel Lebanon. The Meson’s have five married children and 12 grandchildren.

God led him to Reading, PA where he served for two years at El Portico Church until 2020 when God opened up an opportunity at Calvary Chapel Lebanon to join the beautiful vision of the church for the Spanish ministry within the church and work with Pastor Lorenzo Meson as a ministerial assistant in a great team that God brought together for this purpose.
